Link Governor

Link governor for Pastoral – Behaviour, Attitudes & Attendance

Currently Deputy Principal at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College in Darlington, I have enjoyed working in education for over 30 years. My first appointment was as an English teacher at a secondary school in Harrogate. I have also held various leadership and management positions including being a Head of Year and Principal Tutor prior to my Senior Management role. I have also had experience of working with Adult Education.

My reason for becoming a governor is to help ensure that all young people are given the opportunities to enjoy their education; to develop a range of academic, social and personal skills and to be as successful as possible in later life. To that end, I have also been Vice-Chair of the governing body at my daughters’ primary school.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the theatre and playing tennis.
