Welcome to Haughton Academy

We are really looking forward to welcoming you and your child and working together with you to ensure that they are happy and successful at secondary school.

What Will Take Place?

A key member of Haughton staff will visit all our feeder primaries to meet pupils who will be joining us in September. Extensive information-sharing meetings will take place with staff in all feeder primaries. All children will attend days of Transition in July. They will meet their new form tutors, have a tour of the school, take part in a range of exciting lessons and activities and get to know where everything is and who everyone is. Children identified as benefitting from Extended Transition have been paired up with one of our Transition Team and this member of staff will visit them in their primary school to plan an extended transition to suit them. This may include meeting with parents/carers; taking part in any key meetings at the primary school; welcoming them on individual visits to Haughton.
